Traction-related complications in hip arthroscopy for 26 years. A systematic review

ABSTRACT The primary aim of the study is to determine rate traction-related complications in hip arthroscopy (HA) including perineal compression and distraction injuries, secondary objective report incidence HA found on studies selected by a systematic review. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses guidelines were used data extraction from PubMed Cochrane databases obtained February 2022. Reviewers extracted title, author, date publication, number hips treated describing affected area, nerve soft tissue injury related traction. Studies postless combined with other procedures excluded. Twenty-six years literature was search that included 35 8126 (89% Level IV) reported during procedure described A total 623 (7.7%) had some sort HA, traction 227 (36%). Injuries caused specifically 144 (23%) pudendal groin area. Complications 83 (13%) sciatic peroneal injury, numbness or pain ankle foot. occurred 7.7% treated, which this One-third are traction, 23% 13% distraction.
